JEE Advanced – Eligibility Criteria

All aspiring candidates who wish to apply for JEE Advanced 2019 are required to meet a set of eligibility criteria set by the concerned authorities. If the candidates are not able to meet the eligibility criteria, then they will not be allowed to attempt the examination. Therefore it has to be strictly adhered to.

• JEE Main: Indian nationals who wish to appear for JEE (Advanced) are required to write / have written the JEE (Main) paper for admission to B.E./B.Tech. programs conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

• Number of attempts: JEE Advanced can be attempted by the candidates two times in two consecutive years.

• Qualifying examination: The candidates should have appeared and qualified 12th standard (or equivalent) examination.

• IIT Admissions: Should not have been admitted in an IIT irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the programme or accepted an IIT seat by reporting at a reporting centre in the past. Those candidates whose admission at IITs was cancelled after joining will also not be considered eligible for JEE Advanced.

JEE Advanced – Exam Pattern

• JEE (Advanced) consists of two question papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2 of three hours duration each. Appearing for both the papers is compulsory.

• Each question paper will consist of three separate sections, viz., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

• The question papers will consist of questions designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.

• Negative marks may be awarded for incorrect answers for some of the questions. Details of the marking scheme will be provided in the “Instructions to Candidates” section at the time of examination.

• The candidates must carefully read and adhere to the detailed instructions given in the question papers available at the time of examination.

• Examination will be conducted ONLY in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

JEE Advanced – SPECIAL RESERVATION FOR GIRLS

In recent years, there has been a focused effort to boost the admission of girls to IITs. As a part of this measure, a special 20% admission quota has been created for girls, thus making it a welcome news for all female candidates aspiring to get into IITs. The competition faced by girl students will be lesser as compared to boys. The number of supernumerary seats in various programs will be decided by individual IITs ensuring that every institute has at least 20% female enrolment in undergraduate program(s).

JEE Advanced – Few preparation tips from us

• Keep a regular study plan

• Attempt numerous JEE Advanced mock tests to feel actual exam environment

• Solve numerous previous years sample papers and analyse your speed, accuracy after each practice session.
