Lyophilic sol - starch, egg albumin and gum

Lyophobic sol - aluminum hydroxide, ferric hydroxide, arsenious sulfide.

  • Dialysis of the above-prepared solution

  • Examining how emulsifying compounds help to stabilize the emulsion of various oils

2.  Chemical Kinetics

  • Effects of temperature and concentration on the rate of reaction between hydrochloric acid and sodium thiosulphate

  • Examination of any one of the following reaction rates:

i)  Iodide ion reaction with hydrogen peroxide at ambient temperature using various Iodide ion concentrations

ii)  Using a starch solution as an indicator, study the reaction between potassium iodate (KIO₃) and sodium sulphite (Na₂SO₃)

3. ThermoChemistry

Conducting any one of the subsequent tests:

  • Enthalpy of Copper Sulfate or Potassium Nitrate Dissolution

  • Enthalpy of a strong acid (HCI) and strong base (NaOH) neutralization reaction

  • Calculating the change in enthalpy during the interaction (creation of a hydrogen bond) between acetone and chloroform

4. Electro Chemistry

Study the variation of cell potential in Zn/Zn²⁺|| Cu²⁺/Cu in room temperature with change in concentration of electrolytes (CuSO₄ or ZnSO₄)

5.  Chromatography

  • Separation of pigments from leaf and flower extracts using paper chromatography, followed by Rf value calculation.

  • Separation of components found in an inorganic mixture with just two cations (constituents having significant variations in Rf values).

6. Prepare Inorganic Compounds

  • Making a double salt with either potash alum or ferrous ammonium sulfate

  • Preparing Potassium Ferric Oxalate

7.  Preparation of Organic Compounds

Preparation of any one of the following compounds:

  • Acetanilide

  • Di –benzalAcetone

  • p-Nitroacetanilide

  • Aniline yellow
