The DASA scheme stands for Direct Admission of Students Abroad. The main purpose of the DASA Scheme is to facilitate the admission of foreign nationals and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) into the top undergraduate or postgraduate colleges. This scheme attracts genius and talented students from all around the world to get admission and pursue their higher studies here in India.

Registration for this scheme started on June 12, 2023. The registration form must be submitted by July 22, 2023. Additionally, an application form can be found on DASA's official website. For Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and Foreign Nationals, admission decisions are made based on the candidates' JEE Main Rank.

Candidates need to submit their JEE Main rank when filling out the application. The deadline for this is June 26, 2023. The selection of the candidate is based on the merit list prepared. Various top colleges like IITs, NITs, IIITs, SPAs, and many others participate in the DASA Scheme.

DASA Scheme Eligibility Certificate

The eligibility criteria for the DASA scheme is given here in the table. Before beginning to fill out the application form, candidates must make sure they meet the requirements.

                                      Educational Qualification
Must have successfully completed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a reputable Board or University with physics and chemistry. Or biology or computer science. Also, candidates appearing for the board examination can apply.
                                                Minimum Marks
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
  • Candidates should have at least 6.5 CGPA in the board examination.
                                            JEE Main Rank
Candidate must have a valid JEE Rank. 
                                            Nationality and Domicile
Candidates can be a foreign nationals, non-resident Indians, overseas citizens of India, or persons of Indian origin.
                                                        Age Limit 
  • A date of Birth issued on Class XII certificate, a Class X certificate, or any certificate issued by the government will only be considered authentic.

DASA Scheme Steps to Fill the Application Form     

Candidates must follow these steps to apply for the application form of DASA.

  • The first step is creating a personal account at the official website of DASA. 
  • Candidates need to enter their JEE Main Application Number, which will be their username for their account.
  • The password is the candidate's date of birth. After this, candidates need to enter the captcha provided on the screen.    
  •  Now click on the Create My Account button after filling in the necessary details in the above steps.
  • Candidates will receive an email with a verification link. Just click on the link and then enter the username their.
  • Now just choose the password for your account and try not to share it with anyone.  
  • Keep the application ID and password noted somewhere safe for future use.
  • Candidates need to login to their account with the help of their application ID and the password they created.
  • After this candidates can select the institution they want to apply into and save it into their.
  • Candidates must upload their documents and then click the submit button to view the preview. Click Submit the Application Form if nothing is found incorrect after verification.

Photograph

Candidates must make sure that the image they upload is a recent photo of themselves in passport size. Additionally, the photo's maximum file size is 100kb. The file must be 3.5 cm by 3.5 cm in size. The format of the photo should be JPG.

Signature 

Candiadates must make sure that the signature is done on white paper. The maximum file size of the signature should not be more than 100 kb. The JPG file format is required.

  • School certificate verifying that the candidate completed their XI, XII.

  • It is to be noted that all these documents can be colored, black and white, or grayscale.
  • The maximum file size can be up to 500 kb, and the file format is JPG.

Candidates should be aware that once paid, the registration fee is non-refundable. Candidates can pay the fee in INR or US dollars, as per their convenience. Also, they must keep a copy of the payment receipt for future use.
