Exam Pattern for JEE Main

The IIT JEE Mains exam pattern includes three sections. It includes Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. However, below are the details:

  • First, the exam is conducted online. Additionally, it is a computer-based exam.
  • Second, the duration of the exam is three hours.
  • Additionally, the paper consists of MCQ questions. 
  • Furthermore, each correct answer will give you four marks. However, for every incorrect answer, one mark is deducted.
  • Also, the medium of language can be English, Hindi, and other regional languages.
  • In addition, the question paper consists of 90 questions. Each section contains 30 questions. Also, each section consists of equal weightage.
  • Overall, the paper consists of 360 marks.

Exam Pattern for JEE Advanced

Candidates who clear the Mains exam appears for the Advanced exam. Additionally, the JEE Advanced exam consists of two papers. However, both papers are held on the same day. Also, you will get a break in between the two papers. 

However, the total marks for the JEE Advanced exam have been changing frequently in the last few years. Also, both papers consist of three sections carrying 18 questions each.  

  • JEE Advanced is a Computer-based examination. 
  • Second, the medium of the question paper can be English or Hindi.
  • Additionally, it consists of two papers. Paper I and Paper II. Both are compulsory.
  • Furthermore, the total time for both papers is 3 hours each.
  • Also, both papers consist of two or three sections.
